Orangeries in Exeter & Devon

Orangeries in Exeter & Devon

Orangeries bring a distinctive classiness that is incomparable to any of our other products. Once used by wealthy families for growing exotic shrubs, they are now used as secure, calm spaces. Orangeries are much more solid in comparison to conservatories, as they include a dwarf wall that goes around the edge. The roof has solid and glass elements, so you will still feel warmth and sun while enjoying a sturdier extension.

Budget-Friendly Orangeries

Get Your Designs

Orangeries are suitable for most budgets and are a superb alternative to conservatories, giving you a more solid structure instead. It is the pillars and dwarf walls (we match the brickwork to your home) that make orangeries effortlessly fall into place with the rest of the home. They are also a good alternative to an extension as you don’t have to deal with the bother of planning permissions and excessive costs.

Internal Pelmet

Our orangery roofs consist of a vaulted ceiling and have an internal pelmet around the perimeter. This provides a space for you to install lights or speakers in a living space that is usually difficult to light.

Energy Efficient

Our decorative super-insulated columns provide high levels of comfort and have a U-value of only 0.15 W/m²K. Our slimline ridges are 30% slimmer than traditional ridges and come with high-performance thermal breaks to prevent cold spots and condensation.

Structural Integrity

Our orangery roofs are BBA-approved and come with a 25-year life expectancy certificate. They have been wind-tested at speeds of up to 130mph and fire-tested by Warringtonfire. Our orangery roofs are also capable of withstanding up to 4m of unsupported bifold or sliding doors.

Tested

Exova Warringtonfire tests our conservatory roofs to ensure compliance with fire safety. Our orangery roofs also fully comply with the latest Building Regulations and have been pre-approved by Assent and JHAI.

Further Customisation

We offer numerous further customisation options for your orangery. We can provide cornices that are curved or one-, two-, or three-tiered that are available in four standard colours and any RAL colour. Our super-insulated columns can also be added to your orangery in different colours, panelling, and sizes for more warmth.

Our orangery roofs can be designed with larger spans and door openings. They also come with different glazing options, including shaped, side-shaped, full-length panels, or a combination of all three. We also offer performance glazing with a 1.0 W/m²K U-value and high or low light transmission and solar rejection depending on how much sun your orangery gets.

Unique

Do you have a design in mind for your bespoke orangery? We will do our best to achieve this, manufacturing locally with love. However the final product looks, you can be assured that your orangery will serve as a practical and gorgeous addition to your everyday life.

Giving you a choice of colours and styles, orangeries can be injected with your personality. At Launa Windows, we want your Devon home to look good and perform even better. We can work with you to make your orangery as individual as you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between an orangery and a conservatory?

Conservatories are made predominantly from glass, whilst orangeries have a mixture of brickwork and glass. This makes an orangery feel more like an extension of your existing house but at a fraction of the price of a full extension! Conservatories, on the other hand, are made to give you a more seamless transition between your home and garden. Despite its solid foundations, orangeries still allow for light to flood in with plenty of glass roofing and walls but without overheating. Orangeries tend to be cooler than conservatories, but we craft both to be pleasant spaces to live in throughout the year. Both are excellent options, so the choice is in your hands.

Is an orangery cheaper than an extension?

Most definitely. Orangeries have many structural similarities to your usual extension but are cheaper and quicker to install. However, they are more costly than glass conservatories as we need to use more materials and different expertise to build them. An orangery is a brilliant way to open up space in your home while enjoying beautiful views of your garden.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Exeter, Devon, and the surrounding area, including Torquay, Plymouth, Exmouth, Cornwall, Somerset, Newton Abbot, and more.
