Patio Doors

  • Long gone are the days of rattling door frames on windy days with our steady and well-made sliding patio doors. Keeping you untouched and unbothered by the weather outside, our patio doors are made to be resistant to extreme environments including wind and rain.

Experience patio doors that are highly practical and give you a gorgeous exterior aesthetic with our uPVC and Aluminium offerings. Our materials and design will make your home look the best in the neighbourhood – all because of your patio doors!

Enjoy your moments indoors too. The choice between two, three, or four window panes will let you relax whilst the warm sun seeps in and washes over you. You also have a choice between two equally strong materials: aluminium and uPVC. Both of these are brilliantly durable and an attractive choice for your patio doors.

If you find that the rooms facing your garden are dark and feel a little small, patio doors can help! Their ability to light up rooms will completely re-energise the darkest of rooms, so you can embrace the space you have.

We implement safety checks prior to installing patio doors, making sure they operate correctly and easily. We provide free quotes for potential customers, so please come and talk to us if you are interested in having your own patio doors.

How do you open a sliding patio door?

They are very easy to open and close. Just turn the door handle to the required angle and push the door to slide it open. You can control the amount you want the door to open, controlling the light and ventilation into your home too.

Rollers keep the process stress-free. Upon shutting the door, it will close securely for you. Our experts will make sure you know how to properly open and close your patio doors before they leave.

How wide is a two panel sliding glass door?

Patio doors are usually around 1.8m tall, allowing for a 90cm opening into the outdoor garden. We recommend you organise your measurements prior to buying your patio doors, just so you know what you can work with.

The above dimensions are only the average. We can change them to suit your property’s space, whether it is bigger or smaller. It would just be the case of measuring up your space before to make sure you have the correctly sized panels. Please contact us for a free quote and a friendly chat about two-panel sliding glass door dimensions.

What is a lift and slide patio door?

Lift and slide offer a slightly different mechanism to your standard sliding patio door, coming off the track when you open or close them. Patio doors tend to stay firm on the track, but lift and slide’s unique format makes it easy to move doors into different positions. They are opened in the same way as a usual patio door; the only difference is you will feel the door lean back onto the track. Just lower it to lock it into an open position and stop the door from sliding back and forth.

Are patio doors energy efficient?

We work hard at Launa Windows to maximise our products’ energy efficiency, and this is the case for our patio doors too. Energy-efficient patio doors are heavily dependent on good quality materials and installation which we offer to the whole of Devon. Choose from the likes of aluminium, uPVC, double or triple glazing, and multi-locking systems to extend both efficiency and security. We want to make sure your patio doors can keep you warm and save you money on heating bills.

Are sliding patio doors easy to break into?

The glass in our sliding patio doors is either double and triple glazed, and all our external doors have thermally-toughened glass as well. This means that they are extremely difficult to break into.

Locking mechanisms are inserted to keep your exterior doors firmly closed. We will never manufacture and sell a product which compromises our customers’ safety in any way. Our relationship with the UK police-led Secured by Design means we aim to achieve a high level of security that helps lower the number of burglaries in our neighbourhoods.

We can offer further tips on how to secure your home from break-ins, so give us a call and we can talk through security.

How much does a patio door cost?

The cost of your patio door depends on the type of material and ultra-modern components you want it to include. Aluminium costs more than uPVC, for example, while a larger patio door will cost more than a smaller one due to the increased amount of material required. Even the choice of glazing contributes to the final cost of a patio door. Nevertheless, whatever you decide, all of our products will give you the best performance for your home.

We refuse to compromise on quality

Our windows are made from British Made, high quality MarinespecTM components, with up to 25 years anti corrosion. They are built specifically for the more exposed areas of corrosion, such as coastal environments to give you worry free performance beyond your guarantee.  We believe spending more on components is worth every penny, and sets us apart from our competitors.

State of the art fabrication for best quality

We have invested millions of pounds into one of the most state of the art manufacturing facilities in the UK.  This enables us to provide you with consistently high quality products at exceptionally good prices. Our loyal factory workers are well trained and take pride in their work, they really care about quality.  Our machines are maintained according to a rigorous servicing regime to keep them in top condition.

Superior energy efficiency

Our ‘A’ rated energy efficient and triple glazed windows are tested by the BFRC, which will save you money on your heating bills. By law your windows and doors have to meet strict thermal performance regulations but you can be rest assured that our products exceed current requirements.

Energy saving is incredibly important and so is keeping your fuel bills down. We are continuously looking for ways to make our homes energy efficient and one way is to choose new PVCu windows and doors. Not only will they help to keep your home warmer, they will reduce your energy loss.

Don’t just take our word for it!

Our suppliers conform to strictly controlled and independently monitored Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, to ensure that everything is done correctly and according to best practise.

Our windows are tested independently by British Standards for security, weather tightness and strength performance. This means that periodically, we have to send them to independent test houses, in order to be tested to destruction.

These are just some of the many standards the products in our vast range conform to. Needless to say we take the quality of our products very seriously indeed.
