Replacement Conservatory Roofs

  • If your conservatory is feeling much colder than it used to, or the roof is just looking a little old, why not consider a new roof? Our replacement conservatory roofs at Launa Windows are much more affordable than investing in an entirely new conservatory. We can offer you different replacement options for your old conservatory roofs.

Sometimes a conservatory roof stops performing like it used to. You may find yourself unable to enjoy the space when it is too hot or too cold outside. Or maybe it just looks like it is way past its used-by date. Whatever you need, we can offer you replacements that suit a variety of budgets.

Replacements are very quick and work to avoid causing day-to-day disruption for you. Polycarbonate is our cheapest option, and gives you decent insulation while still letting through lots of natural light.

Our high-technology glass is now a brilliant pick in terms of insulation, with U-values as low as 0.8. You will get the temperature you want, no matter the season. We can also add UV filters to the glass, which are not just great for energy efficiency but also protect your furnishings from fading in the sun. Launa Windows also offers self-cleaning glass to keep your conservatory roof looking fresh. It stops any dirt from sticking to your roof and lets it slide off instead when it rains (which is perfect for our rainy climate).

If you are seeking a replacement roof for your conservatory, tiles are another good option. They can be fully tiled or partially tiled, with some including glazed panels. From Ultrasky to LivinRoof, the opportunities to make your roofing as practical and high-performance as possible are endless.

Common Questions

Can I replace my conservatory roof with a tiled roof?

Tiled roofs are increasingly being chosen over traditional glass roofs for conservatories. This may have to do with the fact that they are often lighter than your existing roof! Nonetheless, we will always check to make sure your current conservatory has the support required to hold a tiled roof. To do this, we send out an expert to inspect it in accordance with building regulations. Most conservatories pass our checks easily and quickly, meaning we can go ahead with your tiled roof installation and you won’t need any planning permission either.

Do I need to replace my conservatory roof?

The answer lies in your roof’s appearance and performance. Normally, a conservatory roof will begin to display some significant wear and tear after about 15 years. If it isn’t very energy-efficient, brings in draughts and has mould or plant growth on the roof, it is time to seek a replacement roof for your conservatory. You might also notice increased sound pollution if your conservatory is getting old. If you think your conservatory roof may be due a replacement, get in touch and we can help you choose the right option for you and your home.

Does insulating a conservatory roof work?

They can work, but often this is not the best choice. Inserting insulation alone doesn’t always last very long, so we provide full roof replacements instead. These new roofs could be lightweight tiling or thermally efficient glass. Each one has a 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee, but they’ll likely last for decades. We recommend to our customers that they look after their conservatory roof with some regular maintenance. Contact us to explore insulating options that will be perfect for your home.

What is the best roof for a conservatory?

Technological advancement has given us many materials to choose from when we decide to update our roofing.

Toughened glass roofs are some of the best you will get for a conservatory because they are very sturdy. If you are worried about any sun glare or heat, this glass can be easily treated to prevent such unwanted occurrences. An option that provides more shade and insulation is tiled roofing. Lantern roofs and roof windows are the perfect choice to light up the whole conservatory while retaining the insulative properties of tile.

Before we install your replacement roof, we will have to undertake a home visit. We will inspect your current roof and its bars for strength, making sure it can hold the glass roof’s weight. Top caps are also essential for roof-only replacements, so we will check them too. If you have any issues or questions about the best roof for you, contact us today where a friendly advisor will talk with you.
